A lack of love and attention, constant arguments and everyday violence or sexual and psychological abuse – there are many reasons why children and young people can no longer cope with their parents and take refuge on the streets. In Germany, at least 6,500 minors between the ages of 14 and 18 have chosen this path. And many of them are on the streets of Berlin.
The Straßenkinder e.V. association has set itself the task of helping them. For example, street workers are there to talk to the children and young people – and simply listen to them. The association also offers clothes in a clothing store. And volunteers prepare hot meals and distribute them on the streets. A home-cooked meal: Many of the kids don’t know this from their families.
We at top flow believe that the work done by the Straßenkinder e.V. association is incredibly valuable. Because with their commitment, the members and supporters of the association give support to many children and young people who otherwise have no one. And they create prospects for a different, happy life.
As is already our tradition, we forego presents at Christmas and donate the money to a social project – this year to Straßenkinder e.V. With our help, the association financed a new trolley for the food bank and – more importantly – an additional 5,000 meals. Year after year, we see from the positive response that such a commitment is also very much in the interests of our employees, customers and business partners.
