How top flow supports the Buki orphanage in Cidreag, Romania
In 2021, top flow will continue to support the Buki House for Romanian orphans. The focus is on funding a teaching position.
In 2021, the software company from Bad Saulgau is funding a teaching position
For some time now, top flow has been supporting an orphanage in Cidreag, Romania. The local organization is run by the private Buki initiative from Bad Saulgau. Originally planned for 25 children, over 50 children are now being cared for there – and the waiting list is already filling up.
This year, we received a coronavirus-related call for help. A much-appreciated teacher, who helped out at the Buki-Haus on three afternoons in addition to her work as a teacher, had to look after her parents because of coronavirus. Understandably, she had to stop volunteering. Although emergency care was set up at short notice, this was anything but sufficient.
Children from the poorest backgrounds find refuge and support at Buki House
There are 20 children with very different backgrounds in the emergency care group.
Most of these children have never seen a kindergarten, only speak Romani and first have to learn Hungarian in order to keep up at school and master the local language.
Emergency care cannot provide all of this – a full-time teacher is therefore essential. A teacher with experience in dealing with children of pre-school and primary school age who come from precarious backgrounds and are not at the same learning level as their peers is required. Furthermore, this is the only way to guarantee a real school day with recurring daily routines. And last but not least, coronavirus-related distance learning has made everyday life there enormously more difficult, as the majority of these children have no access to computers.
For all these reasons, top flow has decided to fund a full-time teacher for the Buki orphanage.
