Doing good together: top flow supports children with tumors and leukemia
Once again this year, we have made a conscious decision to forego customer gifts at Christmas and instead support a social project that is close to our hearts. This year’s Christmas donation will go to the Förderkreis für tumor- und leukämiekranke Kinder Ulm e.V..
How we help
The support group has been supporting children with a cancer diagnosis and their families for more than 40 years. The initiative was founded in 1984 by affected parents and is still run today with great voluntary commitment. With our donation, we supported the construction of a new playground at the Ulm Children’s Hospital, which is intended to give the young patients joy, variety and a bit of normality.
The Förderkreis offers a temporary home
The support group provides far more than just financial help. It offers sick heroes and their families a “temporary home”. Children with cancer, bone marrow and stem cell transplants must be treated in a specialized children’s hospital such as the Ulm Children’s Hospital. Families whose children have to undergo long and intensive therapies there find a place to stay in two parents’ houses in the immediate vicinity of the children’s clinic. A total of 27 apartments and three apartments offer space for closeness, which helps the children to heal.
The association also finances important services that make everyday life noticeably easier for the families affected. These include psychological support services and care facilities for children and parents, as well as special aftercare programs and free childcare for siblings. It provides recreational apartments in the Allgäu region where families can recharge their batteries after or between long hospital stays and supports research projects to further improve treatment options.

The support group does not leave the families to their own devices in everyday life either: offers of support with visits to the authorities, financial bottlenecks or organizational issues are just as much a part of this as events, excursions and leisure activities. These create valuable moments of normality, enable exchange with other affected people and give the children carefree hours that are often neglected in everyday hospital life.
We are delighted to make a contribution to supporting this important work with our donation and would like to thank you for making this possible. Together, we are giving children and their families a little hope and joy of life at a difficult time.
