Expert systems in the central ERP system

In sectors where trim optimisation solutions problems have to be solved, independent expert systems are traditionally used as a sub-system which are connected via an interface to the SAP® system.

However, the optimisation tasks often extend over time into areas which are causally visualised in the ERP system. For this reason, interfaces have to be extended with great effort for this, planning results can only be stored unsatisfactorily or not at all in the ERP system for downstream processes.

Logical consequence -
Integration of the expert system in the ERP system. Using trim optimisation within the
SAP® system means:

unrestricted access to all relevant data without an interface
arbitrary extension of planning parameters, for example to material and capacity   availability‘ (on downstream machines)
provide planning results directly in the ERP-System
open ABAP-Technology guarantees transparent solutions (no blackbox)
